product description
Stonogobiops dracula with Alpheus bellulus - Dracula Goby (R
Sample picture. Animals not shown to scale. You will receive one symbiose goby with snapping shrimp.
The Dracula Goby (Stonogobiops dracula) is a small and elegant symbiotic goby that is very rarely available. It differs from the similiar Hi Fin Red Banded Goby (Stonogobiops nematodes) in that it has fine red lines between the bars and lacks the elongated back fin. It lives in symbiose with pistol shrimp such as Alpheus randalli or A. bellulus, with whom it shares a burrow. Such symbiose pairs are well suited for smaller tanks where its interesting behavior can get the attention that it deserves.
The Tiger Pistol Shrimp (Alpheus bellulus) usually live together with symbiotic gobies. The symbiose pair will move into a shared burrow and is very interesting to watch. Especially in nano aquariums and other small tanks the behavior is very entertaining. This pistol shrimp grows to about 5 cm. Thanks to its wide natural range, it can be kept with all symbiose gobies, for example the Yellow prawn-goby (Cryptocentrus cinctus), the Hi Fin Red Banded Goby (Stonogobiops nematodes) or Amblyeleotris species (A. aurora, A. guttata, A. periophthalma, etc).
