Euphyllia usually comes to us from the Indo-Pacific waters (Indonesia) and is often known in Germany as hammer coral due to its shape. The big tentacles fluoresce mostly in bright colours. Euphyllia builds big colonies in nature in a short period beneath the reef tops and are very well maintained in the aquarium. So Euphyllia-species are ideal as the beginner-corals and are also recommended for the initial stocking of a coral aquarium; due to the extremely beautiful colours they are very popular among the collectors and experts.
Catalaphyllia jardinei, also called elegant coral, are basically similar in conduct. They exist in the waters of Indonesia and Australia. Also here we regularly provide rare Neon-fluorescent Catalaphyllias on our online shop.
