Angel fish
Angel fish live in the reefs of Indian –and Pacific ocean and build strong territories which they defend against conspecifics. So the young angel fish have a completely different colour in the juvenile stage: They are not frightened away by their own parents from the territory. Most of the angel fish live together in pairs or small harem groups which consists of a male and several females.
Feeding and nutrition of angel fish
Angel fish feed mainly on algae and small animals. Dwarf angel fish gladly feeds on zooplankton like Mysis or Artemia, however green feed like algae etc. should be fed regularly to them. Dwarf angel fish and angel fish can attack the corals but there are many examples which show that the corals do not even touch them.
Feed butterfly fish and Chelmon rostratus
Butterfly fish are demanding with regards to food. The known Chelmon rostratus forceps fish is especially used against aiptasia plague. However it depends on the individual animal whether it kills the aiptasia plague or not. However the butterfly fish and forceps fish can attack corals, tubeworms or clams. It proves to be an advantage if the tanks has a stand time of few months. So it is ensured that there are enough naturally existing zooplankton which the fish can feed on during the sometimes sensitive familiarization. Naturally you can feed zooplankton by regular addition of NYOS Instant Plankton.
