SIGANUS UNIMACULATUS - BLOTCHED FOXFACE

The Blotched Fox Face is a typical representative of the rabbitfish, which is fairly easy to care for. He grows really fast (up to 20 cm) and needs plenty of swimming space, that’s why the Siganus unimaculatus is best kept alone in a tank that contains at least 800 litres. The diet mainly consists of vegetable food such as algae (also thread algae!) and should be supplemented by vegetable flakes and frozen food. A special feature is the poisonous dorsal spine, that’s typical for rabbitfish and can cause painful, but not fatal injuries to the aquarist unless caution is taken when handling it.
