Pseudanthias evansi - Yellowback anthias
PSEUDANTHIAS EVANSI - YELLOWBACK ANTHIAS
The Yellowback Anthias (Pseudanthias evansi / Mirolabrichthys evansi) is a demanding Basslet which is rather complicated to keep.
For example it‘s a steady eater of zooplankton and must be fed several times a day with high-quality and fine frozen food or live food like Calanus or Mysis. In addition the fish is sensitive to stress and prone to disease with bad water quality and requires appropriate care.
In order to keep this Basslet the aquarium should contain at least 600 litres and have a water temperature between 22 and 27°C. Pseudanthias evansi are schooling fish and therefore should be kept in larger groups.
However, if all these points are considered the Mirolabrichthys evansi is a wonderful inhabitant for marine water aquariums as it is a real eye-catcher with its yellow-pinkish color. Also the swarming behavior is nice to watch again and again.
