product description
Amblyeleotris periophthalma with Alpheus bellulus - Shrimp G
Sample picture. Animals not shown to scale. You will receive one symbiose goby with snapping shrimp.
This Shrimp Goby (Amblyleotris periophthalma) lives in symbiosis with a pistol shrimp in a cave in the sand. Alpheus ochrostiatus is the natural symbiosis partner, but Alpheus bellulus and Alpheus randalli are also possible.
The Tiger Pistol Shrimp (Alpheus bellulus) usually live together with symbiotic gobies. The symbiose pair will move into a shared burrow and is very interesting to watch. Especially in nano aquariums and other small tanks the behavior is very entertaining. This pistol shrimp grows to about 5 cm. Thanks to its wide natural range, it can be kept with all symbiose gobies, for example the Yellow prawn-goby (Cryptocentrus cinctus), the Hi Fin Red Banded Goby (Stonogobiops nematodes) or Amblyeleotris species (A. aurora, A. guttata, A. periophthalma, etc).
