product description

GHL ION Director

The ION Director® (IOND for short) uses state-of-the-art ion-selective technology to measure essential water parameters - calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium and nitrate - fully automatically and accurately, with maximum convenience and low running costs.

Developed by GHL specifically for seawater analysis, the accurate and long-lasting multi-ion sensor requires no reagents, and low-cost reference fluids are used for automatic calibration. Inaccurate, time-consuming and cost-intensive measurement methods, such as drop tests, are a thing of the past.

In addition to measurement, the ION Director® system offers many other functions:

  • Regulation: Automatic re-adjustment of dosing pumps to keep a value stable.
  • Monitoring: Alarm when the value is outside an adjustable range
  • Analysis: Viewing in diagrams and in the logbook (via app, cloud and web server).

ION Director® Features:

Unique multi-ion sensor
Compact and accurate laboratory-grade multi-ion sensor developed by GHL specifically for seawater analysis, which combines the functions of multiple sensors.

No reagent fluids required
No reagent fluids are required for measurement.

Accurate measurement
Extreme accuracy due to special electronics, sensor technology and measurement algorithms developed and perfected by GHL.

Cost-effective and harmless reference liquid
Economical measurements due to low consumption and low-cost reference fluids.

Automatic and manual measurements
The number and start times of automatic measurements per day (up to 24 measurements/day possible) can be set, additional measurements can be started manually at any time.

Automatic calibration
To reach the maximum possible accuracy, a fully automatic calibration of the sensor is performed before each measurement.

Trace measured values
In the case that measured values differ too much from earlier results, ION Director automatically starts another measurement. After this is completed, the values that seem most plausible are used. This special feature, called Doublecheck, can be used to overcome false measurements that may have occurred due to air or particles in the sample water or other disturbances during the measurement. The trigger for a double check are adjustable. The Doublecheck feature can be switched off.

Automatic control of dosing amounts
To reach stable water parameters, ION Director® can automatically readjust dosing quantities of added liquids depending on the measurement result.

LED Status Display
The LED illuminated GHL logo serves as a status display. Different colors inform you about the system status.

White = Configuration mode
Blue = Normal
Green = Measurement or dosing in progress
Yellow = Dosing tank warning level to low
Red = Dosing tank alarm level to low
WiFi, App and much more
GHL devices offer the most connectivity options, you can choose between app, cloud, web interface or PC software via WiFi/LAN or USB.

Seamless integration into the GHL system
The ProfiLux Aquatic Bus (PAB) connection makes it easy to integrate the IOND into the modular GHL system. The PAB connection ensures trouble free communication with other GHL PAB devices such as GHL Doser 2.1 or ProfiLux® 4.

Easy to maintain design
The multi-ion sensor is easy to clean duo the clever design of the ION Director® and can be easily cleaned or replaced if necessary.

Measured values available at any time and from anywhere
Get information about measurement results anytime and from anywhere - via app, cloud, web server or Windows software.

In addition, the display of values and states on the ProfiLux 3/4 or ProfiLux Touch (if available) is possible.

Robust device in laboratory quality
The device design of the ION Director® meets laboratory requirements. Like all of our instruments, this one is built from particularly high-quality materials to ensure a long service life.

Dosing tank warning level to low
