Siganus puellus - Masked spinefoot
SIGANUS PUELLUS - MASKED SPINEFOOT
The Siganus puellus is a beautiful representative of the rabbitfish which just like its conspecifics is fairly easy to care for. The fish should be kept single or as pair in large tanks from 1500 litres, also because he gets 32 - 38 cm tall. He mainly eats vegetable feed and algae but also zoanthids and sponges. With his poisonous dorsal spine that’s typical for rabbitfish he defends himself against potential enemies. This can cause painful (but not fatal) injuries to aquarists, so caution is advised when handling the fish.
