Daisy Corals
The so-called Daisy or Flowerpot corals are LPS that often come from nutrient-rich, turbid lagoon environments. A nutrient-rich aquarium environment and feeding them really helps to keep them happy. They encompass species such as Goniopora, Alvopora or the newly-described Bernardpora. The difference between Alveopora and Goniopora can be easily seen as Alveopora only has 12 tentacles per Polyp, whereas Goniopora have double that amount at 24 tentacles per polyp. The newly-described Bernardpora is still traded as Goniopora stutchburyi, as CITES regulations have not caught up to its new classification yet. It can be distinguished from Goniopora by its much smaller, shorter polyps ("Mini Flower" or "Carpet of Love").Name: Goniopora, Alveopora, Bernardpora
