The Chelmon rostratus is a beautiful, but also quite tricky fish which is not suitable for beginners. What makes it so demanding is the feed intake - especially in the adaptation phase many specimens don’t go well to suitable feed like frozen food and live food (e.g., Artemia, Mysis). However, with some skill and experience this can be solved, especially since the fish is considered as easy to care for once it accepts food.
To keep Chelmon rostratus a well-established aquarium is enormously important. As the fish quickly becomes large (up to 20 cm) and is really agile the tank should also hold at least 500 litres.
