Gorgonias or Seafans are softcorals that are characterised by a flexible skeletton made of gorginin. The photosynthetic species which can live on light alone with the help of their symbiotic Zooxanthella algae and don't need to be fed are especially prevalent in the Caribbean, where multiple different species such as Muricea, Pterogorgia, Plexaura, Pseudopterogorgia and Gorgonia occur.
