Salarias ramosus - Starry Blenny
SALARIAS RAMOSUS - STARRY BLENNY
Since the white dots on the brown body of Salarias ramosus are reminiscent of a starry sky this popular blenny is called „Starry Blenny“.
Starry Blenny will size up to 14 cm in adult state. According to this size the aquarium should have a minimum capacity of 450 liters while a water temperature between 24 and 28°C is optimal. In addition this blenny is considered as food specialist as he only eats algae - for this reason enough algae should exist in the tank. Additionaly dry algae and flakes with 100% algae content can be fed. If the sufficient supply of algae can be assured the keeping of Starry Blenny is really straightforward.
Because there can be rivalries among several Salarias ramosus it should be avoided to keep them in groups. Optimal is to keep them alone, keeping them as pairs is only recommended if the pair is already matched.
