LPS corals (Large Polyp Stony) are a favorite among reef aquarists. With their large fleshy polyps and vibrant colors, they bring movement and beauty to any reef tank. Compared to SPS corals, most LPS species are more forgiving and thus suitable for both advanced and ambitious beginner reefkeepers.

For optimal LPS coral care, we recommend moderate flow (powerheads), medium to low light (reef lighting), and stable water parameters: Calcium (400–450 mg/l), Alkalinity (7–9 dKH), and Magnesium (~1300 mg/l). Slightly elevated nutrient levels and feeding with coral food support vibrant colors and steady growth.

Popular species include Euphyllia (swaying tentacles & rich colors), Acanthastrea, Favia, and Trachyphyllia. These LPS corals come in stunning shapes and hues, adding dynamic highlights to any reef tank.

Many of our coral frags are sustainably grown at our own coral farm near Stuttgart – adapted to aquarium life and reef-ready.
