Archaster angulatus - Sand Sifting Sea Star
ARCHASTER ANGULATUS - SAND SIFTING SEA STAR
The Sand Sifting Sea Star (Archaster angulatus) digs into the substrate, looks there for organic waste as food and cleans the substrate at the same time.
Therefore the tank should be well-cycled and not too sterile so enough organic waste is present. In addition sufficient substrate for digging should exist. The minimum aquarium size is 120 litres. When adding the starfish to the tank it must not come into contact with air.
If these points are considered the Sand Sifting Sea Star is easy to care for. In addition it behaves peacefully towards other animals. To keep several specimen is possible, but the pool size must be correspondingly higher as one starfish is up to 25 cm big.
