product description
Synchiropus marmoratus - Marbled Dragonet
Sample picture.
The Marbled Dragonet (Synchiropus marmoratus) is similiar to S. ocellatus but has a reddish coloration. Males can be identified by their elongated backfins. Females are rarely caught and mostly unavailable in the trade. They feed on planctonic organism which they hunt on the ground and rocks. An aquarium should be well established for them so there is lot of zooplankton available (you can boost zooplankton density by feeding phytoplankton or micronised food), because they are slow eaters and they may have trouble finding food otherwise. Can additionally be fed small food such as Calanus or Lobster eggs.
