OXYCIRRHITES TYPUS - LONGNOSE HAWKFISH

An unproblematic and hardy fish that is easy to keep under certain circumstances. The tank should be at least 600 litres big and have a cover since the Hawkfish tends to jump. Moreover corals should be present in the aquarium to provide the fish a natural living environment. The up to 13 cm tall animals are very voracious and tend to eat shrimps in the tank when hungry, that’s why a regular feeding of frozen food, flakes or granular food is essential. Towards conspecifics the Hawkfish are often aggressive, so it‘s recommended to keep them single.
