QUICK START GUIDE:
1) Carefully unpack all contents and make sure you have all of the items shown.
2) Find the power supply, power cord, and LED array. Plug the male end of the power supply into the socket and the LED array.
3) Plug the power cord into the power adapter and the other end into a standard 110-220 volt wall outlet. Check that all LEDs are lit correctly.
4) Place the power supply so close to the choke that it can be connected to a socket as well as to your ARID choke. Make sure that the power supply unit is not located near an open water source and that it is protected from splashing water. Placing the power supply in an unsafe location can permanently damage the components of your reactor.
5) Install your ARID reactor in your system. Your reactor will require 400-600 GPH flow (a Panworld 40px / 50px is recommended). Your ARID reactor should be equipped with fittings with an internal diameter of at least 1/2 inch. Your ARID reactor is designed with a bottom-up flow pattern. Connect the feed pump to the bottom connector of your ARID reactor using flexible vinyl tubing or rigid PVC. Make sure there are no clogs or obstacles. A ball valve can be used between these connections for precise water control.
6) While holding the anchor over the body of the ARID reactor, place approximately 2-3 large handfuls of Chaetomorpha algae into the open segment of the anchor. Place several small clumps of algae in the plastic coils in each section. These spiral wraps hold the algae in place.
7) Carefully load the anchor into the reactor body.
8) Check the surface of the body o-ring to make sure it is free of debris or algae.
9) Secure the lid by turning it clockwise until it stops. Tighten the thumbscrew securely. CAUTION: Knurled screws can break if they are tightened too much!
10) Connect the flexible vinyl tubing to the outlet port on the lid and plug the other end into the sump. Make sure the piping is secure and not blocked.
11) Turn on the flow to the reactor and check for leaks around the O-ring.
12) Use a timer or controller to create a schedule for the lighting system of your ARID reactor. The reactor should have a schedule with the daylight setting reversed from that of your display aquarium. It is best to have your reactor turn on 1 hour before the indicator tank lights turn off and stay on for 1 hour after turning off. Make sure that the power supply is connected to the timer or the corresponding socket on your controller.
