Nyos Nitrate Minus

Nyos NITRATE MINUS promotes the growth of nitrate-reducing bacteria. This allows nitrate to be reduced biologically down to the detection limit. A small amount of phosphate is also reduced through the skimming of bacterial films.

  • Biological reduction of nitrate (and small amounts of phosphate)
  • Dual formula with short- and long-term active components
  • Can be used permanently or temporarily
  • Contains no toxic methanol

Application

  • Standard dosage: 10ml per 1,000 liters daily
  • If nitrate is below target level: halve the dose (5ml per 1,000 liters daily) or pause
  • If nitrate is far above target level or drops too slowly: double the dose (20ml per 1,000 liters daily)

Notes

  • We recommend a nitrate level of 5–15mg/l
  • If possible, dose daily using a dosing pump
  • Monitor nitrate levels weekly using the Nyos® NITRATE Test Kit and adjust the dosage as described above if necessary
