Tridacna maxima is a popular giant clam for reef aquariums. After many years of good care, they may reach sizes of 20-30 cm. Their colors are caused by refraction, similar to a butterfly's wings, and they vary drastically with the angle of view. They look brightest when viewed from above.
All clams offered are captive bred in mariculture.
